Lethargy :: Purification

Grind That Axe

By The Atomic Chaser

Lethargy :: PurificationPurification’ the monster debut release from UK rock juggernauts Lethargy is a pummeling titan that goes for the jugular once you press play. I would describe Lethargy as equal parts Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, with a heavy dose of Soundgarden thrown in for good measure. Lethargy is fueled and powered by Phil Humphreys on guitar/lead guitar/vocals, Andy Hunt on vocals/guitar, Marc T Jones on bass guitar/vocals and Gaz Hunt on drums/percussion. This quartet’s chemistry is as tight as a glove and they proved that hand over fist on this amazing debut. There is not a spot of filler anywhere on the album. Every track is excellent, though I’d have to single out the supercharger, "Stealth", that is highlighted by the powerful vocals of Phil Humphrey. Then there is the fast-riffing "Bleachin’ Bones", and the rolling thunder of "A Lost Adoration" that truly capture the amazing musicianship this band truly has. ’Purification’ is everything a great hard rock album should be. Tough where it needs to be,, to the point, and never boring. All of the tracks here are guaranteed to get your rocks off. If you are tired of searching for good rock music, be assured this is your best shot. Lethargy is a band whose music will shakes your soul in ways unimaginable. This band without a doubt is a force to be reckoned with. If you don’t have this, don’t hesitate to add it to your collection, that is, if you appreciate hard rock with a superabundance of talent. Intense and powerful, ’Purification’ is a spine-tingling ride that will blow your mind!
