Rock Icons, Boston, Set Down on ACL Live Stage

On July 11, 2012, Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater welcomed the iconic rock band, Boston, to their stage. This performance was in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Austin’s own morning show radio personalities, Dudley and Bob, of KLBJ-FM.

Boston has sold over 31 million albums in the US including 17 million of their premier Boston, which was released in 1976. Boston is lead by founder, guitarist, keyboardist, songwriter, and producer Tom Scholz. Joining him are Gary Phil on guitar, Tommy DeCarlo on lead vocals, David Victor on vocals and lead guitar, Curly Smith on drums, and Tracy Ferrie on bass.

To get the house rocking, Boston opened with some selections from their first and second albums including “Rock N Roll Band,” “Smokin’,” and “Feelin’ Satisfied.” They continued to delight the crowd with more of their classic hits like “Piece of Mind,” “Don’t Look Back,” and “Amanda.” The show included 19 songs in all including two encore selections, “Used to Bad News” and “Party.”
