ACL Live Welcomes The Coal Miner’s Daughter to AustinLoretta Lynn at the Moody Theater

On February 17, 2012, The Coal Miner’s Daughter, the incomparable Ms. Loretta Lynn, graced the stage at Austin’s ACL Live at the Moody Theater. Ms. Lynn, who has been a fixture in the world of country music for the past fifty years, thrilled her fans with a sampling of some of her greatest hits during her hour long set. She closed the show with her mega hit from which her nickname was derived, “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”

Loretta Lynn at the Moody Theater Lynn, who was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Country Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1999, has received many honors including four Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, eight BMI awards, twelve Academy of Country Music, eight Country Music Association and twenty-six fan voted Music City News awards. A prolific writer with over 160 songs to her credit, Ms. Lynn was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2008.

Opening the night for Loretta Lynn were her daughter Peggy Lynn and Jim Lauderdale.
