(New York, NY) – Seether’s smash hit single, “Country Song,” has just blazed to the #1 spot on the Active Rock chart after impacting at radio just last month.  The track is Seether’s fifth single to go #1 at Rock radio; it follows hits “Fine Again,” “Remedy”, “Fake It” and “Rise Above This.”  The tongue-in-cheek companion video for “Country Song” can now be seen on MTV’s websites (MTV.com, MTV2.com and MTVU.com) and is airing on MTV2 and MTVU.  Click here to check it out.

South African natives Seether debuted on the scene in 2002 and have sold nearly 4 million units to date worldwide.  Seether has become an impressive presence on the worldwide touring circuit, averaging more than 275 performances per year.  The band’s most recent album, 2007’s FINDING BEAUTY IN NEGATIVE SPACES has sold nearly a million copies to date in the United States alone.  The album was produced by Howard Benson, debuted Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart (#9) and features the #1 hits, “Fake It” and “Rise Above This,” as well as a multi-platinum cover of “Careless Whisper.”  Seether’s previous albums, KARMA & EFFECT and their debut DISCLAIMER, as well as a reworked version of the album, DISCLAIMER II have all been certified gold, respectively, with each release selling more than the previous.

Seether’s fourth album, HOLDING ONTO STRINGS BETTER LEFT TO FRAY, is due out May 17th on Wind-Up Records and is produced by the legendary Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against The Machine).  The offering showcases songwriter and frontman Shaun Morgan’s ability to successfully meld raw emotional lyrics with intensely melodic elements of heavy metal, post-grunge and alternative rock.  The band is currently on the road playing to sold-out crowds and giving fans a preview of the new album – please see below for tour dates.  As a special thank you from the band, all who purchase tickets to Seether headlining shows will also receive a free copy of the new album, giving fans more bang for their buck.

Seether is Shaun Morgan (vocals, guitar), Dale Stewart (bass) and John Humphrey (drums).
