Hollywood Saints

Hollywood SaintsAnother night of checking out the local Arizona music scene dropped me in front of a band called the Hollywood Saints.  Their ranks contain Steve Conley (F5) on guitar and Dave Johnson, locally known as Naked Dave (owner of Naked Dave’s Music in Tempe) on bass.  Geno Dellamorte (Creepsville 666) on vocals, Matt Brist on guitar and drummer Robbie Six round out the band’s line up.

Hollywood SaintsImpressive little group. Starting out with Highway Star, Rebel Yell and Cold Sweat they quickly got the crowd’s attention.  Diversity didn’t prove to be a problem as they launched in to Panama, Don’t Tell Me You Love Me followed by Round and Round. Definitely a nice mix of material that the crowd ate up.

The band finished their set with Radar Love, Heartbreak Blvd., Hell Bent for Leather and Stand Up and Shout – the crowd was riled up with horns in the air and roared for more.

Club Red did have one oddity that night – seats.  Not sure where they came from, but half the venue looked like a theater.  Strange enhancement to the eye for anyone who has been here a lot, but it was also kind of cool as well.  Kind of curious as what the club is going to do when they get a national act in there or a harder style of music.  Either way, it was nice to kick back in comfort and rock Saints’ style.
