Bombay BlackArkansas rockers, Bombay Black return with their latest slab of rock, ‘Love You To Death’. In an era of new music that has watered down the idea of rock and replaced it with poppy, radio friendly, corporate crap pile that is designed to sell records; it is easy to lose hope. Then there is Bombay Black, this band kicks some serious A**. I was very impressed by this album and was excited to hear something new that sounded like some guys plugging in, turning up, and kicking out the jams. On the opening rocker, “Reign Over Me,” it’s all there to wallow in and sets the tone of the rock and roll ride that awaits. Then you have movers like, “Let The Right One In’ and the title track, which is the first single of the album, that prove why Bombay Black are the real deal. Musically, ‘Love You To Death’ is the most Modern Rock sounding Bombay Black has recorded. On their previous outings, ‘Mercy’, ‘Anger Management’ ‘Psycho Magnet’, showcased the band’s ability to write snarky, funny, heavy and extremely melodic anthems. Bombay Black are refreshing and the album is loaded with killer songs and I can safely say that I have listened to this album all the way through many times and have not been bored by it at all. Bombay Black brings a fully loaded metal jacket of soul baring, angst guaranteed to rock your socks off material that is proudly anchored in the foundations of traditional hard rock song writing. Giant guitar driven monster riffs served up on a bed of nasty grooves with soaring melodic vocals and big hooks. Basically, NO FRILLS RIFF ROCK! In short, if you dig classic style, hard rocking, driving fast, rock and roll then this album is for you. Get it, listen, and rock out!
