The Doors :: The Soft Parade

Audio Fidelity

By Keith “MuzikMan” Hannaleck

The Doors :: The Soft ParadeThe warm, crisp, clear sound of the Audio Fidelity 24 karat gold CDs make your ears happy. The Doors are now part of their catalog of offerings.

The classic The Soft Parade broke new ground for The Doors and rock music as a whole by orchestrating some of their songs. “Touch Me” was a perfect example of that cross pollination of genres and the results were tremendous. Again Audio Fidelity takes one great album and makes it better with their process.

Jim Morrison was a true poet and the opener “Tell All the People” is a statement that cements that fact. That is one of many songs he wrote that had so much depth and meaning.

I have the Perception box set and listened to all The Doors albums in 5.1 Surround Sound, which is exceptional. There is a big difference in what you hear when you listen to a recording this way however I would have to say that when Audio Fidelity works their magic it rivals any version of the album anywhere. That says it all, this is a must have if you’re a Doors fan or an audiophile searching for that sweet sound on one of your favorite rock albums.

This version also offers two bonus tracks from the 40th Anniversary Remix tracks (taken from the Perception box set) of “Touch Me” and “Soft Parade”. Remixes can be fun and a different and in this case enjoyable as these tunes never wear out their welcome.
