Slaves To Gravity :: Scatter The Crows
Gravitas Records
By The Atomic Chaser
Slaves to Gravity is the new rock sensation forged from the fires of the hard rock outfit known as The*Ga*Ga*s and Ariel-X. Formed in 2006, Slaves To Gravity have unleashed their debut release in the form of, 'Scatter The Crows'. The band fueled and powered by Tommy Gleeson on vocals, guitar, Toshi Ogawa on bass and backing vocals, Jason Thomopoulos on drums and Mark Verney on lead guitar. Produced by the band themselves, the album is packed with raw energy over a totally polished performance. The boys unleash their rock and roll fury with the opening number, “Heaven Is A Lie” a rocking track, and sets the tone of what awaits you as the album progresses. Distorted guitar chords and groove laden rhythms underpin a moody anthem that I’m surprised to find wasn’t used as a single – Slaves To Gravity have learned the wisdom of keeping something back, it appears. Tommy Gleeson's vocals are rock solid. A cross between Dave Grohl and Jim Wilson from Mother Superior. Slaves to Gravity are without a dout sending a clear message that they mean business when it comes to delivering the rock and roll goods as this album really does demonstrate the dexterity of the band as musicians. Other numbers that are guaranteed to get your rocks off are, "She Says", "Mr Regulator", and the melodic powered mover, "Doll Size". Slaves To Gravity served up no holds barred rock music that is downright addictive. Drawing on a huge range of combined rock influences and with 'Scatter The Crows' the lads have created a monster that needs to be heard! Couple that along with dangerously high levels of charisma from singer/guitarist Tommy Gleeson, and you're looking at a very exciting prospect indeed. With the already outstanding success of the singles these guys are fast becoming the UK's equivalent of Velvet Revolver. Make sure you keep an eye out for Slaves To Gravity.
