When All Access Magazine asked me to write a review of Enigmatic’s Return to the on Feb 21st I was eager and ready for the opportunity to share what I knew would be a memorable evening filled with extraordinary live local music, and that is exactly what I got.
To start the night out we had The Rise of Defiance opened the show as a newer addition to the local band scene, I had not heard their music prior to the show and I have to admit they gave a surprising performance, Singer, Ryan Miller took charge of the stage and showed to be a charismatic front man. Guitarist Randy Silver held his steady performance in check while ripping through songs with authority and chugging rythms. Issam Pereira, gave a powerful change of pace on keyboards as he took the crowd by pleasant surprise, while Igor Jones full of enthusiasm hammered his bass with absolute precision. Mike Pinder charged the crowd while pounding his drums with precise rhythm. The Rise of Defiance is a solid band on their way up and
getting some attention in the local music scene, to follow what is next for check them out at www.myspace.com/
theriseofdefiance.
Next to take the stage is the ever popular Cethkyn, giving the crowd a powerful mix of metal and punk these guys have no boundaries when it comes to their music. Their high-energy performance is just what the crowd was looking for and these guys definitely did not disappoint them. Vocalists, Matt hit the stage practically growling at the audience as he belted out songs with his in your face delivery he was all over the stage bouncing from one side to the next taking control of the audience. Guitarists Kevin and Travis wailed away on their guitars enthusiastically embracing the sounds of their music and capturing the crowd as the mosh pit began to grow. Bassist Dan delivered a powerful and solid sound keeping the music together with
the drummer Adam. These guys are in unity and their chemistry on stage fills the entertainment void, leaving the crowd anticipating their next show, check them out at www.myspace.com/cethkyn
When Enigmatic took the stage, they opened with “No Black Cloud”, the song that was featured on WJRR’s Native Noise just 3 nights prior. As Enigmatic engaged the audience in the first moments of their performance, everyone pushed closer to the stage to catch the magic cheering and jamming to Enigmatic’s unique style of music. Singer Chuck Boyer gave a stellar performance, when he took over the mic, he owned the stage with
both integrity and energy, while Mike A guitarist is extremely exciting to watch play, as he allows the music to completely enfold him, and looses himself in the intensity of each song. How can I forget the meaty sound of the bass, played effortlessly by Mikey V, giving the music a steady back beat with fluid motion, all the while keeping in time with drummer Pablo, as he strikes each drum and symbol with steady transmission, keeping the songs flowing, teasing the crowd into wanting more. Each member engaged the audience and half way through the set Chuck asked the crowd to hold up their drinks as he gave celebration to Mike A’s birthday, and after sharing in the tribute, It would seem, Enigmatic had the crowd eating out of their hands. What a truly memorable night, It appears to this writer that Enigmatic could set a standard that other bands may adhere to, they value their fans as much as they revel in their music. All in all it was an amazing performance. Keep

The last band to take the stage was none other than (un)Said an all-original alternative metal band. Looking to gain national exposure (un)Said is one of the bands featured in WJRR’s Battle of the Bands. Their music is aggressive and driving, with meaty drums, solid bass lines, well placed guitar solos and vocals. Their music impressed me in versatility and talent. They have the presence and energy during their performance that does well to engage the crowd. I was impressed with the range, control and strength of vocalist Jeremy Hyson. Guitarist Danny Lee and Josh Gorsch played with infectious electricity keeping it together with bass Nick Cirullo and drummer Don Cadman. (un)Said has the talent and charisma needed to take them to new heights. Check out their website for more information on venues and what is next for this local band at www.myspace.com/unsaidmusic.
The night was truly a memorable night, giving music fans a line up of amazingly talented musicians at one of the best Live music venues in Central Florida.
