Love Eternal :: Healing
CD Review
By Kim Thore
It’s not often that you find a mix of Bob Marley meets Tent Revival, but Love Eternal, a collective of musicians dedicated to producing music as ministry, has managed to create just that. Made up of Jahred Namaste-vocals and guitar, Shawna Namaste- vocals, ray of sunshine (mandolin, guitar) and supported by Namasya Carpenter, Kristafari and Dave Faulkner, Love Eternal is certainly in theory trying to execute a positive vibe through their music. According to their website they “see the power of sound vibration and lyrical content, and choose it to uplift and heal.”…and again it is a noble cause.
However, theory and application are two different things and “Healing” while pleasant enough can be a bit cyclical and tedious as the songs follow a rather predictable formula. While Love Eternal can execute styles of reggae and new age effectively, the cd loses momentum quickly and feels like one groove was found and the group stuck to it.
For 13 tracks.
However, for the listener that is looking for peaceful music of various styles this may not be it , but for someone ok with the hypnotic feeling often created by new age music this cd does the trick.
