Voodoo Johnson :: Into The Red

VJ Records

By The Atomic Chaser

Voodoo JohnsonEver since hearing their first EP, I've been a fan of Voodoo Johnson. What this band from Birmingham, Midlands UK bring to the table is a rock sound that is loaded with passion, soul and tons of rock and roll attitude. Think Aerosmith with a dash of Zeppelin thrown in to spice things up. The band's latest offering, 'Into The Red' is one of those recordings you'll refuse to skip tracks on. Every track on it is filled with pure talent and musical genius. From the opening stick of dynamite, "The Longest Day I Ever Wasted" to the tour de force mover, "Inhale", Voodoo Johnson go for the throat and make sure you get your rocks off. Kev Bayliss's voice is amazing and energetic. Rich Bellamy rocks the bass along with Dave Barker's pounding insane beats that round out a great rhythm section that backs Carlos Gethin's amazing guitar work perfectly! The entire band works as one entity with a sound like no other band currently out there. Voodoo Johnson is relatively new but definitely up and coming! With a sound like theirs you will only crave more. There's lots of poser rock bands these days but Voodoo Johnson are not one of them. Real rock and roll that will blow your doors off. If you are even the slightest bit interested in rock music you will buy this album NOW! 'Into The Red' is a MUST HAVE by any standard.
