Powerful and stunning self-titled debut release from Grimmstine. The band features Steve Grimmett(Grimm Reaper/Lionsheart) and mind blowing guitarist Steve Stine. Rounding out the band with a rhythm section that is solid as a rock are Hat on bass and Dave Johnson on drums. Combined, this quartet has put together a stunner of a recording that is powered by the British steel vocals of Steve Grimmett and the U.S. might of Scott Stines' incredible guitar work. The opener, "Memory" is a calm before the storm, before the band unleash their fury with, "911", "Supernatural" and "Got Nothing But Time". Only three songs in the band go for the throat, with no hesitation or let up, 15 tracks total and not a weak track to be found. Aggressive and melodic at the same time, the metal laced hard rock style that the band serve up is very catchy yet has a lot of balls, never sounding too watered down, like a lot of other bands in this genre tend to do. Steve Grimmett's vocals are on point and sound better that ever. While Scott Stine's guitar work is simply smoldering. His creative riffing and tasteful soloing throughout the entire album is very well done! The chemistry between Grimmett and Stine are like hand in glove. Overall, this is an excellent album for anyone who is into modern traditional heavy metal and hard rock. Grimmstine's self-titled debut will definitely be in my top ten albums for 2008! Looking forward to hearing more from this amazing new band.
