Those Swedish rock and roll bad boys Gemini Five are back with their latest slab of in your face high energy rock, 'Sex, Drugs Anarchy'. This high powered rock and roll juggernaut is powered by, Tin Star on vocals and guitar, Hot Rod on bass, Slim Pete on drums, and new member guitarist Dee Dee. This is the band's third release and let me tell you, it's their best! Not knocking the band's previous outings, which were both rockers, but this one is a friggin' monster! I love how the boys draw you in with, "Thunder & Lightening" an atmospheric intro with acoustic guitar and electric guitar feedback with the crowd cheers fading in before the go for the throat chugging riffs of, "I Am Hollow" starts fires thing up. 'Sex, Drugs Anarchy' has that Motley Crue vibe around their `Shout At The Devil' era, with the Metal riffs and shouting chorus lines. This leads us to the deep bass lines, and dark lyrics of, "Scream 4 Me" that sounds like Motley in the verses and Def Leppard in the chorus with a sprinkling of Hardcore Superstar thrown in for a little attitude! While tracks like, "Here's Looking at you Kid", "Lay Your Money Down" and the title track just adds more fuel to the fire and shows that Gemini Five can rock out with the best of them. A sound so rock and so right, it'll blow you away. How they manage to keep this amazing standard up throughout is beyond me. Gemini Five is such a breath of fresh air from all that boring indie and depressing nu-metal that's around. 'Sex, Drugs Anarchy' is probably best heard at phenomenal volume in an enormous stadium with a dazzling array of pyrotechnics to accompany, but failing that, just crank up your stereo and annoy hell out of the neighbors with what is undoubtedly one of the best rock releases of 2008.
