Bottles Of Wine :: Blessed With Fire
Akashic Records
By The Atomic Chaser
On their debut CD, 'BLESSED WITH FIRE', Chicago based rock trio, Bottles Of Wine start off with a bang. Bottles Of Wine mix very well melodies and kick-ass approach of ROCK music and offer something for everyone. Blending the ramshackle grace of the Stones, Free, the Faces and Humble Pie. The trio is powered by Michael Connelly on vocals, guitar, harmonica, piano, gw on bass and Luke Smith on drums. A rarity. An album which is so much more than just a collection of songs, but a piece of music in it's own right. From the opening rocking number, "Cheatin' The Hangman", the band's chemistry can be heard instantly. While movers like, "Bedroom Light", "Money Lust" and "Dirty Diamonds", just kick your listening experience to overdrive. Bottles Of Wine is a refreshingly genuine sounding rock outfit. Guaranteed to make your afternoon in the sun. Kick back and relax to quite simply a great example of blues rock these days. 'Blessed With Fire' is a smorgasbord of rich, spicy guitar tones, soulfully strong lead vocals, and lyrics that would have been perfectly at home in a Southern novel of the kind I had to read in school in order to get on the honor roll. Overall, this is a very strong album, and highly enjoyable. If you like bluesy rock 'n' roll, there's a good chance you'll love this. Bottle Of Wine is a band not to be missed. This album is not to be missed.
