Lorraine Crosby :: Mrs. Loud
CD Review
By Kim Thore
As THE voice that made Meatloaf’s only number one hit “I Would Do Anything for Love” a duet to go down in history, Lorraine Crosby, aka Mrs. Loud has already made her mark in music history. Not one to rest on laurels she has released the much anticipated self titled debut “Mrs. Loud” that truly showcases here undeniable talent.
Her whiskey-esque vocals shine through 12 tracks of rock and bluesy tunes that are thankfully not over produced , as Crosby’s style stands on its own. It’s high octane, pleasure soaked and jagged- cutting right through to you and lingering for awhile afterwards. Powerful and thought - provoking, Crosby knows how to deliver note for note.
Stand out tracks include “I Want You So Bad”, “Last Train to Paradise” and “Don’t Push Your Luck”.
It’s been a long time coming for this release, but some things are worth the wait.
