Legendary rock genius Alice Cooper unleashes his latest dark conceptual masterpiece 'Along Came A Spider'. If you horror fans out there are in the mood for some blood-drenched serial killer hard rock, then I can guarantee that Alice Cooper's latest offering will satisfy your morbid appetites. A concept, that tells the story of a cold blooded killer. Each song is about the killer Spider watching women, thinking about killing women, or thinking about letting one go free. The current band members who contributed to "Spider" consist of Danny Saber, Eric Singer, Greg Hampton, and Chuck Garric. In addition, former Guns & Roses member Slash makes a special bad boy cameo on the track "Vengeance is Mine." Then there is "Salvation" a beautiful ballad that takes the album to a different level. Alice Cooper has a way of taking a classic sound and making it modern. Or maybe he's taking a modern sound and giving it his classic touch. Either way, 'Along Came A Spider', once again, proves that Alice Cooper is a true artist. He gives his fans want they want every time without worrying about the mainstream. The cd booklet is a nice touch as well, designed to look like Steven's diary. In the end, Alice Cooper has done it again. If you are a fan of old Alice Cooper and his more recent efforts, there is no reason to hesitate buying this one. It has hints of the past and new flavors. A truly strong release by a long time artist who is still at the top of his game.
