Pop Evil :: Lipstick On The Mirror
Pazzo Music
By The Atomic Chaser
If the processed garbage you've been force-fed by corporate radio hasn't totally killed your desire to ROCK, then it's time you tried Pop Evil. Hailing from, Grand Rapids, Michigan, brothers and sisters, Pop Evil is PURE ROCK! That is what they serve up on their ball busting debut release, 'Lipstick On the Mirror'. Great vocals and musicianship. Pop Evil is powered by, Leigh Kakaty on lead vocals, Dave Grahs on guitar, Dylan Allison on drums and Matt DiRito on bass. Pop Evil have an innate talent for writing catchy songs that go for the throat. All the songs that are featured here are packing serious heat. Bringing elements of hard rock, and groove laden riffage into a volatile mixture that will hands down, GET YOUR ROCKS OFF!. From the moment the opening riff of, "Hero" roars out of your speakers Pop Evil make it perfectly clear, they are here to rock you in a way, unimaginable. Tracks like, "Shine Down", "Stepping Stone" and the turbo charged rocker, "100 in a 55", are just like icing on the cake. By the time the notes of the album closing, "Hey Mister" are hit, you will have felt like you ran through a field of land mines. This is an impressive debut from Pop Evil. If the songs on this album are any indication of their future direction in music, their next album should be one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of next year. Would I recommend 'Lipstick On The Mirror'? DAMN STRAIGHT! If you like hard rock mixed with strong vocals and extremely catchy guitar work, this debut release album is a must have. Pop Evil is without a doubt a force to be reckoned with.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
