Wino Joe: the Legacy
Label: Happy Highway

By Bruce Baldy

Most of his work could probably use some vocals on a couple tracks but what needs to be said about the Wino. The CD is a musical interpretation of someone named Wino Joe and his day. Gritty in spots and free fun loving in others. One can actually see (in his mind) the person going thru his day while listening to the tracks. Catchy rhythms with some nice grooves, and minimalist guitar works. The second disc a 45 minute rendition of the Wino's night is definitely one which burns into the listeners mind with haunting melody and abstract drum /percussion track, titled accordingly Down The Alley; Society Set Aside gives the feel of being there. Hopefully it will be available in hard copy soon, but for now you can hear it from amazon, rhapsody, sony connect and possibly other e-tailers - Check it out!
