Fury UK :: Salvation
Rocksector Records
By John Consterdine
“Salvation” kicks in straight away, and from the off you notice a sound similar to early Paul Dianno era Iron Maiden but with a much more doomy guitar sound, almost like Trouble meets Paradise Lost, during the chorus before future guitar legend Chris shreds your ear drums with a solo that sounds like Dave Mustaine and Randy Roads battling for musical supremacy.
To top of the awesome single there are also two marvellous b-sides as well, the first is “Manslaughter” which vocally, delivers like Machine Head’s classic “Davidian” if James Hetfield had bellowed the chorus. This track also highlights Martin’s skills as a drummer; all I can say is that the kit he recorded with must be battered and bruised as he has the precision and skill of both Lars Ulrich and Nicko Mcbrain. This track really has the potential to be a future Fury UK classic.
As for final track “Lost In Forever”, it sounds like a medley of many great bands and songs, starting with Sabbath’s War Pigs, then moving into the atmospheric sound of Pink Floyd before adding all sorts of different styles including Rise Against’s “Prayer Of The Refugee”, Rush’s classic “YYZ” and even more Sabbath with a flashback to the inspirational style of Tony Iommi on Sabbath classic “Die Young”.
An excellent comeback by Fury UK!
