Big Jim Slade :: This Is Delicious
Big Jim Slade Music
By The Atomic Chaser
'This Is Delicious' is one of the most original and exciting albums I have heard in a long time. Big Jim Slade is a deep breath of fresh air in a music scene saturated with cliche, forgettable music. The band is made up of, Jonathan Sirls on guitar and vocals, Chris Belt on guitar and vocals, Robert Sirls on bass and vocals, then rounding out the band is, Clay Fuqua on drums. The album as a whole has an energy that is rare among music put out in recent times. From the powerful build up of the opening riff on, "Branded" to the somber tone of "Refused To Let It Die", Big Jim Slade grabs you by the ears and doesn’t let go. Other powerful songs like "I Am But One", "Face Of The Day" and "Tone Deaf Love" make this band a force to be reckoned with. 'This Is Delicious' is an album of great depth, sincerity and passion. With each listen, a new thing is heard, observed, noticed. Some of the things sneak up on you. Some catch your 'ear' automatically. It is an album that opens up like a little treasure chest. Some of the gems are ornate, some are simple. Some appear like costume jewelry, others like shining diamonds. No matter the contents of the chest, you value each and every stone and trinket discovered. All have equal value. Combine Jonathan Sirls' solid vocals with incredible musicianship and top-notch arranging and what do you have? An amazing experience, each and every time. Simply put 'This Is Delicious' by Big Jim Slade, is one of the best albums released this year. There is so much texture and influences rushing though each song. I can't see how anyone would not get rocked by this album, it’s a must have!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
