Mugison :: Mugiboogie
CD Review
By Lisa M. Knapp
Released in 2007, this one is defiantly one for anyone and everyone’s shelf. Starting out solo and now a full 7 piece band, these troopers have something amazing going for them. All the way from the beautiful Iceland, Mugison has a brilliant eclectic variety of sounds that they intensify and shine with on this new album. A variety of sounds and musical genres ranging from electronic, funk, pop, rock and roll, metal, country, and oh so much more. This album has it all; it’s what this writer calls ‘an experimental playground of music’.
This eclectic group came together and mixed all types of musical tastes to make them both unforgettable and a definite need for everyone’s collection. It’s almost as though every single member of this outfit has a completely different musical taste and with all flavours tied together they made this album an unforgettable masterpiece. Something like your favourite ice cream topped with your favourite sweet toppings and berries. MMM!
Without missing a beat, each and every song on this album has a unique and tastefully beautiful touch to it. From the lyrics of the songs to the fabulous instrumentals used to create a unique and original sound. The album in its entirety has something for everyone, for every taste and flavour. Something that no one will regret picking up. The flow used song after song, differentiates entirely but flows so well that the difference goes unnoticed.
