Of all the new talent out there today, I have to say that Amber Lane's demo stands out from the rest. I was browsing new artists on myspace one night and ran across her page. I was blown away by the songs. The lyrics are great, the vocals are amazing and the production is professional sounding.
My favorite song by her is definitely "Totally Happy (Someday)". It's a pop rock sounding song with a great beat and terrific lyrics. With words like "Tired of all the pain, life's a stupid game, it seems I'll never win, heart-broken again" and "The more I try, the more I fail. Everything is shot to hell. I'm going to be worth something someday, totally happy". I think everyone can relate to that. It's a touching song, but still fun to listen to. It also has a positive message behind it. To me, it says that everything will turn around in time, if you just keep fighting.
The other 2 songs are wonderful as well. "Another Break-Up Song" is a cute song that makes fun of a boy that Lane had apparently dated, but he turned out to be a real loser. My personal favorite lyric from that song is "You don't have a car and you ditch me to go hang out at the bar. Yeah, you'll get real far". That song has more of a rock feel to it, and definitely more attitude!
"The Last Night" is a ballad, and shows her softer side. It talks about a guy who appeared to be "the one", but everything ended up going bad in the end. It talks about love and loss and regret and never getting the chance to say goodbye.
She only had 3 songs on her myspace, but from those 3 songs I can tell that this girl has real potential and will go far. Everyone should check out her music!
