Culdera :: Illumination
CD Review
Review and photos by Stephen Gibson

Straight from the “River City” of Richmond Virginia comes Jarrod Hoover (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Chad Mosson (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Jeremy “The Worm” Forsyth (Drums) and Mike “Doc” Capocelli also known to their followers as Culdera debuting their new CD entitled “Illumination” at The National (www.thenationalva.com)
When these guys came on stage you knew it was going to be a show. The lights at The National went dim and all you could see was the shadows of 4 guys and all of a sudden you hear the bass guitar of Mike “Doc” Capocelli as well as the Drums of Jeremy “The Worm” Forsyth come beating into your chest, then in comes Jarrod with his guitar sounds
along with Chad on the microphone and all of a sudden the lights come on and their sound Illuminated not only the stage but the crowd of about 300 as well.
To these guys it’s all about the Fans, the repeated ones that have shown their support thus far as well as the new ones that come out to see them put their full energy into the show, in the 6years that Culdera has been together, their first debut release “The Dawning” proved to be a hit with about 1000 sales and so far their second CD release “Illumination” has already sold about 300 in the first month when it went on sale in May.
They have opened for bands such as Chevelle, Firehouse, Hinder, Sether, Vertical Horizon, Blessed Union of Souls and Future Leaders of the World.
When asked how they came up with the name Culdera, Chad states: We wanted something Bold and Strong and Culdera means Lasting Impression.
According to the band the thing that also inspires them is random acts of Humanitarianism, as well as the repeated fans that have shown their
support for their music over and over again, and they could care less whether they play in front of 6 or 60,000 screaming fans, if they know that they touched one person with their music, it means they came to the show and accomplished what they hoped to do.
They are currently planning an independent local and national tour within about 1000 miles of the Richmond Virginia area with hopes of being able to play at Van’s Warped Tour at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater and also stated that if other offers fell into their lap they would be ready to Illuminate the crowds wherever they went.
