Tim Miller :: Adelaide
CD Review
By Kim Thore
In the style of David Gray with a bit of Brad Paisley sans twang thrown in, you have “Adelaide” the new cd from Tim Miller. Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Miller has put together an uncomplicated and unfussy collection of thirteen songs that are melodic and soothing. Miller is more of a songwriter/singer than the other way around… that is not to say vocally he lacks—the opposite is true as he has a very persuasive and effortless delivery that wraps around the listener. However, his delivery is such that it doesn’t blanket his songwriting which at times seems quite autobiographical yet with mass appeal.
Meaning? You may find yourself or someone you know in this moving compilation.
Miller’s vocals and acoustic guitar work are enhanced by Andy Timmons on electric guitar, Mike Deering, mandolin, pedal steel, Nick Jay, keyboards , Jeff Howe on drums and Jason Steinsultz on bass.
Noteworthy tracks include “Make Believe”, “Heaven Only Knows” and “Let Us End” but you’ll find plenty of comfort throughout.
