Rebel Rebel Tear it up

at the Zebra Lounge

By Erin O'Neill

Rebel RebelOnce again the guys of Rebel Rebel don't disappoint fans and patrons at the Zebra Lounge in Rosamond. And this time they did not come alone. They were joined by two other bands Saturday night, The Dead End Defects and Silent Soundroom. What more can you ask for cold drinks, kick ass bands, and hott chicks. That is what you get when you come to the Zebra Lounge.

For those of you that don't know Rebel Rebel Let me tell you a little about them. Members include; Jet Jupiter (aka) The American Ayatollah... Vocals, guitar, fx, fire, power tools; The Mind Teddy Heavens - [aka] Mr. H .Stun Guitar; The Media Marcello Scorpio- Bass; Erik R [aka] The Mood sound fx, dialogue, sledgehammer electro noise. They were formed back in 1990. They were the band to bring back fun and excitement to the Rock 'N' Roll scene. They were influenced by entertaining bands such as Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Plasmatics and Jane's Addiction. Rebel Rebel has been able to successfully combine all the Rebel Rebelamazing attributes of all these great bands and create their own cybershockrock sound.

Banned from most venues in Los Angeles for their outrageous stage antics, the band opened their own club and started playing the outskirts of So Cal. Smashing monitors, mutilated bodies, guitar burning and beer bonging are just a few things you should expect to see at their shows. Fox Television followed the band and their fans for a week and were told,” When you come to one of our shows, you don't know if you're going to get drunk with us or burn the place down, and that's what kids love today. They want to be scared and have a good time. NO RULES. They don't know if they'll have to do a beer bong or destroy a burning television set. We offer something to look at and participate in. Slam dancing and moshing are so boring. “You can check out the band on the web at www.rebelrebel.org or their myspace page www.myspace.com/rebelrebel.

Even if no bands are playing feel free to come out to the Zebra Lounge in Rosamond, Ca. It has been called a Quentin Tarantino style bikini bar in the middle of the desert. Located on Sierra Hwy just north of Rosamond Blvd. they got everything you could want. Cold beer, hott girls, great DJs', pool tables, awesome food, hookah lounge and now, of course, live bands. They open at 4pm and have started a routine have having live bands on Saturdays. Check the club out on the web at their myspace page www.myspace.com/zebrasintheav. That should be able to give you updates on the bar and upcoming bands playing.
