CD Review
By The Atomic Chaser
Glenn Hughes returns with his latest, 'First Underground Nuclear Kitchen (F.U.N.K.)'. This is the latest chapter in an extraordinary musical evolution, and is quite possibly the most compelling and positive musical statement in a distinguished career already abundant with highlights and milestones. A perfect blend of rock and soul that will make you get up and shake your groove thing! From the moment you hit play, the funked infused mover, "Crave" grooves out of your speakers and sets the stage of the electrified funk and soul that awaits. I truly believe this is the record that Glenn Hughes has always wanted to make. Drawing influence from such legends as Stevie Wonder , Donnie Hathaway and Earth, Wind & Fire, with each track Glenn let's his soul shine come through touching you in way unimaginable. As is, evident on the title track and the soul moving, "Love Communion". Chad Smith from The Red Hot Chili Peppers, again plays drums. 'F.U.N.K.' is truly a master class recording. One thing is for certain Glenn is out to make sure you get your groove on. With this album, Glenn Hughes proves his masterful and soulful talents without any doubt. This isn't just an album to be listened to in sections, it needs to be played from beginning to end. 'F.U.N.K.' is an album that will inspire and nourish the soul. The music world is better off with Glenn Hughes sharing his gift with us; and hopefully he will continue to entertain us with his gift of music and song as only he can for many years to come. Make no mistake, the Voice of Rock will move your soul. Thank you, Glenn Hughes!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
