The songs are pretty simplistic, without much experimentation, but they are also delightfully concise and accomplish precisely what you want in a hard rock album and that is to get your foot stomping and your head a' wagging. In an age where musicians are mixing genres left and right, but end up being more of a gimmick, Volbeat make it perfectly clear with 'Rock The Rebel'/'Metal The Devil', that old school rock and roll and heavy metal music make a very potent combination.
