Local H :: 12 Angry Months
Shout Factory
CD Review
By The Atomic Chaser
Chicago rockers, Local H, Scott Lucas on vocals/guitar and Brian St. Clair on drums, are back with their long awaited new release, '12 Angry Months'. The band first struck during the post-grunge tide of the mid-'90s. Critics often boxed the band's early albums in with the sea of other Nirvana worshipping artists. Written after the bitter end of a long-term relationship, '12 Angry Months' chronicles a full year of post-breakup experiences. Each track corresponds to a month and deals with the range of emotions one encounters after love turns sour. The album opens with the space age rocker, "January: the One With 'Kid'", the opening notes have that Pink Floyd vibe before kicking into high gear rocker. The groove laden mover, "February: Michelle (Again)", will get your blood pumping with its power pop charm. It's so good when rock music like this comes out, because it gives you faith that the world isn't brain-dead and completely brainwashed after all. This is one of the most refreshing albums that has come out to date. It's intelligent and emotional while delivering everything you'd expect from Local H plus a few new surprises. If you are looking for that album to wash away those blues or you want to know if Local H still has it, check out '12 Angry Months' and share it with your friends and loved ones. If you do, they will love you more in return and that means more presents at birthday time. Nothing but GOOD can come from getting this album.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
