Wiser Time :: All For One
Wiser Time Records
CD Review
By The Atomic Chaser
Much is made of the so-called "sophomore slump," even in music. So many bands that burst on the scene with attention-grabbing debut albums seemingly fall on their faces the second time around. Wiser Time, however, give us a superb performance with their second offering, 'All For One'. The music is bursting at the seams with feeling. It's gritty, it's bluesy and it grabs your attention and warms you up like a double shot of whiskey. A dash of Humble Pie, a dash of J Geils Band and a lot of southern blues roots is the foundation for Wiser Time. Bringing it to full flavor in a slow cooker and serve blistering hot. Often the best music is a master blend of old school flavor that creates something totally new. Wiser Time brings together all the right ingredients at the perfect point and serves up a dish of new sounds that will touch every taste bud in a new and tantalizing way. On tracks like the opening movers, "Even" and title track, its obvious that Carmen and the boys have their sights of making sure they shake your souls as well. Then you have downright dirty swagger of such tracks like, "Hammerdown" and "Crawling Floor" that just can't be played loud enough . Throughout with every track, Wiser Time reach full groove, filling all the sonic spaces. The musicianship is awesome and it's clear the band was enjoying their time in the studio. Carmen Sclafani's energy is infectious, and his singing is filled with such immense warmth and passion. If you musical taste craves for music that is genuine and filled with passion. You won't go away hungry. You will have more than you can take in at one time and you will keep coming back for more. This is truly a dish you will never grow tired of. The depth and complexity will treat you with new experiences every time you listen. Bon Appetite. Wiser Time are the "Real McCoy".
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
