Los Angeles-based vocalist Ellee Ven recently performed at the 2008 Music Millenium Conference (“her music is smooth and trance-like, a big club favorite” HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS). Ellee – whose song YOUCANBUYME is currently #1 on the ARTIST UNDERGROUND charts -- is readying herself for tour dates ahead while basking in the glow of the New Year with a Los Angeles Music Awards win for ELECTRO POP ARTIST OF THE YEAR, and a South Bay Music Awards win for VIDEO OF THE YEAR. The first part of 2008 will bring a long awaited return to the studio, inclusion in GIRL ROCK’s Battle of the Bands and rehearsal time for her ”Roll the Dice Tour” featuring Prodéje beginning February 2008.
The video YOUCANBUYME was directed by Eric Zimmerman and Daniel V. Bigelow, and is an imaginative illustrated animation placing ellee ven in super magical make believe places. ellee ven’s latest full-length release YOUCANBUYME fuses dance jams and ballads created by producers Reggie Dozier, DJ SWAMP, Antony Lee, Onirika & Prodéje.
Ellee Ven grabbed the attention of DJs internationally with the release of Project 11: a compilation series featuring remixes of ellee ven originals. “It was recommended to me that I record more up-beat material, so I’d be able to learn more about the DJs. It was fun because suddenly I was working with people from all over the world just sending files back and forth!” Hot Sauce Records’ founder ellee ven enjoys bringing together veteran producers with up-and-comers. “Fans seem to really like the result,” she affirms.
Elle was nominated for 2007 POP ARTIST OF THE YEAR & INDEPENDENT CD OF THE YEAR at the South Bay Music Awards. In 2006 UNSIGNED MUSIC MAGAZINE declared Ellee Ven a favorite by making her a cover girl, nominating her for ARTIST OF THE YEAR, and for ALBUM OF THE YEAR. Ellee Ven’s video UNDER MY SKIN won VIDEO OF THE YEAR.
Currently Ellee Ven’s single YOUCANBUYME is a dance club favorite as is “Roll the Dice” her most recent collaboration with SCC’s Prodéje. It’s the title track from Project 11 Volume 6 featuring Trypsin, Solange and DJ Scotty Boy available April 2008. Also, to be released in Spring is GROOVETRONICS VOLUME 2, featuring ellee ven’s single “What Am I Running From”.
