Glyder :: Playground For Life
Universal
CD Review
By The Atomic Chaser
Irish eyes are smiling once again! Irish rockers Glyder are back for another round with their highly anticipated sophomore release, 'Playground For Life'. Full throttle, high tension blues based rock which throws immediate comparisons with Thin Lizzy. Make no mistake, while there may be that Lizzy comparison, Glyder are no imitators or trying to jump on any trend. Glyder hold their own and stand proud of who they are. They get there power and strength from, Tony Cullen on vocals and bass, Bat Kinane on guitars and backing vocals, Pete Fisher on guitars and Davy Ryan on drums. This quartet have it down and bring a freshness to the genre. 'Playground For Life' itself is a rock solid album with no filler tracks. "The Gambler", "Sweets" and "Puppet Queen" are all guitar driven rockers packed with amazing guitar riffs, while the title track and "For Your Skin" have that groove laden bluesy vibe, yet no less powerful tracks. 'Playground For Life', the highly anticipated sophomore release from Glyder is simply a MUST HAVE by any standard. Chalk block full of music that makes you remember you're alive. Hands down, one of the best rock bands around today. Glyder just simply gets down to business, serving up blues laced rock and roll that apologizes for nothing and gives everything.
Highly Recommended
