Gravity Burn :: Weight And Sea
Independent Release
CD Review
By The Atomic Chaser
Atlanta Georgia's very own, Gravity Burn burst onto the music scene with their amazing and powerful debut, 'Weight And Sea'. The perfect combination of, progression and aggression. The guitar riffs give this album a fierce sound that will have you rocking in your car or room (or wherever get your rocks off). Gravity Burn are powered by, Magda on vocals, Mike Buffa on guitar, Adam Holcomb on bass and Josh Hack on drums. Magda's has a sheer, transcendent voice with incredible versatility. She belies the music’s sinister mood with evenhanded spirituality, thoughtfully letting some light shine through the tempest. As is evident on tracks like, the rocking, "Broken Promise", "Falling Down" in all its melodic splendor and the powerful "Slowly Killing Me". Even when Magda is rocking out with the boys, her singing remains ethereal and gorgeous. 'Weight & Sea' is a roller coaster joyride that doesn't disappoint. The songs range from prog-rock to intoxicating anthems, the music is ethereal, the writing is top notch. Gravity Burn are on the verge of a major breakthrough. This band is pure energy, synergy and life. One only needs to "listen" to their music to understand that they are here to stay. myspace.com/gravityburntheband
