Twinspirits :: Music That Will Heal The World

Lion Music

CD Review

By The Atomic Chaser

The stunning debut release, 'Music That Will Heal The World' from Italy's Twinspirits is such an eclectic synthesis of so many different musical styles that it truly is original. Twinspirits, actually bring fresh ideas to the genre. The band is made up of truly gifted musicians, Soren "Nico" Adamsen on vocals, Daniele Liverani on keyboards, Tommy Ermolli on guitars, Alberto Rigoni on bass and Dario Ciccioni on drums. Together they have put together a very daring recording that exhibits immense originality and diversity. It is progressive in every sense of the word. Much more so than most of the essentially recycled material that passes as 'progressive' rock/metal just because it was considered progressive when somebody else did it first. Being progressive is about pushing boundaries on musical composition and musicianship. 'Music That Will Heal The World' does this. As is evident on such tracks as, "Power To Kill" a guitar heavy track that goes for jugular from the first to the last note. Then the band shifts gears into "It's Just Life", a melodic eerie piece that will hypnotize your senses beyond belief. This is absolutely a mammoth accomplishment for a debut album, and should be picked up without any hesitation by any progressive metal fan who is tired of the same old stale and boring Dream Theater worship and instead would like something that's actually progressive and compelling.
