Journey Welcomes Arnel Pineda With “Open Arms” To Their Family As The Band’s New Lead Singer

The wait is finally over for JOURNEY-- Neal Schon (guitar), Jonathan Cain (keyboards), Ross Valory (bass), Deen Castronovo (drums)--is proud to introduce fans all over the world to their new lead singer, Arnel Pineda (“pin-eh-da”). He replaces Jeff Scott Soto, who parted ways with the band earlier this year after stepping in for Steve Augeri, who had to leave the band in 2006 for medical reasons.

Arnel hails from Quezon City in the Philippines and has been singing Journey songs--in addition to original material--with his band, The Zoo, for the past couple of years in clubs all over his homeland. Joining the legendary band is dreams come true for him.

JOURNEY is currently working on a new album with legendary producer Kevin Shirley, which they hope to release by spring/summer 2008. Details will be announced early next year.

Orange County-based hard rock band 'The Warned'

After years of playing in various bands, the five members of The Warned (Justin Warn, vocals/keyboards; Jesse Warn, guitar/vocals/synthesizer; Steve Sievers, bass/vocals; Eden Godinez, guitar/vocals; Robbie Coleman, drums/percussion) have come together to create something that they all believe in: music with feeling and emotion. The music that emanates from this band is both melodic and powerful, with a sense of urgency. All five musicians bring equal, yet different, aspects to the band – leaving listeners satisfied with a feeling of hope and promise. The Warned encompasses various elements of rock, metal, and alternative pop into a unique, addictive sound.

“Music has always been a large influence for me in my life,” states Justin Ward, one of the band’s co-founders. “My father, who passed away in 1999, taught me the importance of music and the ultimate importance of providing and taking care of your family….music is music as long as it’s good. That’s how I see it these days,” Warn adds. “In high school, I started to get into the hardcore scene, attending show after show with my good friend (and eventual Warned band mate), Steve Sievers… I think that was the point at which I realized that being in a band is what I wanted to do.”

In 2006 Warn embarked on a trip to the Philippines with some members of his church, something that would “stretch him physically, emotionally, and spiritually,” he recalls. “We brought medical supplies and much-needed love and care (that) people in third-world countries rarely get. It was an eye opener.” Warn journeyed to Zambia and Zimbabwe in Africa this past year. “The desperation and need is so great out there… it’s hard to imagine a place like that without water, food, or medical supplies… to see what’s going on in other parts of the world that are so beautiful yet so lacking is mind-changing and inspiring. Inspiring to write about what’s going on from my perspective. It’s about love, understanding, and compassion. Real issues, real life – how I see things. I am totally inspired and driven to make a change in this world, one way or the other.”

Orange County-based hard rock band The Warned has placed three songs from their debut CD - “Let Me See You Again,” “At The Sight Of The Dead,” and “Blameless” – on the Front Page of growing popular website, GARAGEBAND.COM.

Each of the songs was voted on by the website’s members; “Blameless” will be featured on the site’s Alternative Metal front page December 7; “Let Me See You Again “ will be featured on the site’s Hard Rock front page December 12. “At The Sight Of The Dead” was featured on the site’s Alternative Rock front page during November.

Watch for interviews with The Warned on radio shows the NEW ARTIST SHOWCASE and ROCKWIRED in the days ahead as well as features in OC-based WHATS UP MAGAZINE and other area publications. For more information on the Warned log onto either www.thewarned.com or www.myspace.com/thewarned.

ACCLAIMED SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ROCKERS… The Feisty Piranhas

Win “Album Of The Year” @All Access Magazine Music Awards, “Best

Punk Group,” “Best Independent CD”@ The South Bay Music Awards

(HOLLYWOOD)–Acclaimed Southern California rock group The Feisty Piranhas recently took home multiple honors at two year-end Awards shows in the Los Angeles area: “Album Of The Year” at the All Access Magazine Music Awards on November 3 in Hollywood;Feisty Piranhas and “Best Punk Group” plus “Best Independent CD” at the South Bay (Calif.) Music Awards on November 10 in Redondo Beach, where they also performed live.

The Feisty Piranhas were interviewed on the ROCKWIRED Radio Show that aired Saturday, December 1 and were featured on the November cover of Orange County entertainment publication, WHATS UP.

The band (Peter Alexander Lust III – rhythm/lead/bass guitars; lead/background vocals); Peter Lust Jr. – drums/percussion; Jens Schnabel – clarinet/background vocals; Will MacGregor Bass) were entered into twelve categories for the 5oth Annual Grammy Awards and also were on the bill for the 30th Anniversary show of seminal punk band, The Misfits, on November 9 at The Ventura Theater. The FP’s were part of the nationwide Vans Warped Tour in 2006.

The Feisty Piranhas win “Best Punk Group” and “Best Independent CD” Awards at the 2007 South Bay Music Awards, which took place on November 10th, at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.

“By combining straightforward arrangements with instrumental virtuosity, the Piranhas have achieved a sound that is remarkably powerful: simple without being sloppy, big without being ostentatious, “ noted VENTURA COUNTY REPORTER scribe, Matt Singer. “Their sound is dark, moody, Socal punk/pop with unexpected flourishes,” says Host Brian Lush of the ROCKWIRED RADIO SHOW. “After listening to the first song (on their CD), I was hooked,” wrote Matt Zeltzer of THE SPARTAN. “Each song kept the same basic principles that seem to define the Feisty Piranhas: simple yet bold clarinet and sax lines, solid rhythm guitar, electrifying lead guitar, and an amazing amount of layers in the sound (four out of five stars).” “They bring so much energy!,” writes the VENTURA COUNTY STAR. The group’s previous CD, SHOCKED, received three Grammy entry nominations in 2006.

SUICIDE SILENCE Embarks On The “Santa Slays” Tour

SUICIDE SILENCE kicks off the holiday season headlining the “Santa Slays” tour, which also features The Faceless, Light This City and Oblige. This week-long run of California kicks off on Dec. 26th and culminates with a massive New Years Eve show at Soma in San Diego. See below or visit www.myspace.com/suicidesilence for their complete touring itinerary.

Mitch Lucker (vocals) states: “Hey everybody, we’re definitely stoked to be back home after 3 back-to-back tours had kept us out on the road for what seemed like forever. However, touring with bands such Despised Icon, Winds of Plague, Unearth, Darkest Hour, A Life Once Lost, Walls of Jericho, etc., provided us with some of the best experiences of our lives. We’re extremely thankful for all of the great bands we’ve recently toured with and are pleased to announce that we’ll be doing a week’s worth of holiday headlining dates in California between Christmas and New Years. This includes a long overdue appearance at the Showcase Theatre in Corona, which is the venue that really got things started for our band. We expect these shows to be some of craziest we’ve played in awhile so please come out and enjoy the holidays with us on the ‘Santa Slays’ tour!”

SUICIDE SILENCE have plenty of reasons to celebrate after having an extremely successful 2007 which saw their highly acclaimed debut album, The Cleansing, enter the Billboard Top 200 chart at #94, their video for “The Price of Beauty” get officially banned by MTV and perform over an unprecedented 150 shows throughout North America alone.

SUICIDE SILENCE also recently shot a new video for the track “Bludgeoned To Death” with acclaimed director David Brodsky (GWAR, The Red Chord). The clip is set to capture the band’s unrelenting, frenetic stage energy and look for it to make its online debut early next year.

Feel free to visit the band’s official YouTube page (www.youtube.com/suicidesilence) to view the banned “Price of Beauty” video and for other exclusive video content. Stay tuned to the page for extensive drum and guitar video lesson series, which will be posted early next year.
