elleeven :: “Project 11 Series”

Hot Sauce Records

CD Review

By Jamison Gee

The Project 11 series is just another way singer/songwriter elleeven is changing the music industry. Taking many songs previously released on albums, elleeven collaborates with DJs around the world to remix her songs and give them a whole new vibe. The remixed songs are then featured in the Project 11 series. The series, which first began in 2005, includes 5 different compilation CDs. Each CD contains 1 or 2 songs which have been remixed several times by different DJs, all with different sounds. The idea of the series is to have great creative energies collaborate to make something new and better. This way, a song that may have only reached out to one group of people can become appealing to whole new groups. If you like to dance, the Project 11 series would be a great investment for you. The series breaks barriers between genres and fuses all types of music together, which is exactly what elleeven is all about. If you are a fan of elleeven, the downside of the compilation is that you won't be hearing a lot of new material from her since most of the songs were previously released on her earlier albums. However, you may find a new favorite song within the series because the remixing gives each song a totally new feel. Overall, the Project 11 series is fresh and well executed.
