Mind's Eye :: A Gentlemen's Hurricane
Lion Music
CD Review
By The Atomic Chaser
Mind's Eye has built a career on delivering some of the most consistently strong progressive rock albums in history and 'A GENTLEMEN'S HURRICANE' proves no exception. Mind's Eye return in full force, with their fifth and most exciting release, 'A Gentleman's Hurricane'. A concept album of epic proportion. The premise, 12 murders in 7 days. I won't spoil it for you, but I will say this. Tom Clancy would be envious of this story-line. The trio responsible for this masterpiece, are, Andreas Novak on vocals, Johan Niemann on bass and guitar and drummer Daniel Flores. 'A Gentlemen's Hurricane' features heavy riffs, soaring melodies, and intricate arrangements. Mind's Eye proves unrelenting in its pursuit of creating musical brilliance. Recording a concept album and taking what band's like, Queensryche, Dream Theater and Pink Floyd have done in the past and taking the art of recording a concept album to a whole new level. Appeasing their loyal fans but also reaching out to all rock fans with hook-laden hits like "Seven Days", "AssassiNation" and "Feed My Revolver". This release is also breaking new ground. It is the world's first triple pack release with a comic book to illustrate the concept storyline and a companion DVD chronicling the making of the album, allowing the listener to get right inside the albums concept and gain an insight into how this band trio of musical geniuses work in the studio. There are plenty of surprises in store, even for stalwart fans, perhaps one of the reasons that Mind's Eye remain in a league all their own, ahead of the pack and ahead of their time. A truly outstanding trio, who have created an album THAT MUST BE EXPERIENCED both on a audio and visual level. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
