The Dizzy Riders :: On the Fast Track to Outer Space
CD ReviewBy Kayla Wohlford
Local Hollywood music at its best is what you will find by listening to The Dizzy Riders new self-titled four song EP. Following their debut album “On the Fast Track to Outer Space”, a thirteen song lyrical masterpiece. Songwriter and lead singer/guitarist Roey writes about living in Hollywood and making a name for yourself singing “living in la la land a singer in a rock and roll band… staying up all night on the scene”. The new EP has four guitar fueled raw-energy songs. With new drummer Geoff Robins this three piece group with bassist Erin Soriano has a full-force sound. Frequently playing at various Hollywood “hot spots” including the Knitting Factory and Key Club, their alternative classic rock harmonies with Roey’s vocals creates a sound never heard before. The second track “Revolving Door” is an amazing song filled with strong bass lines and hooks. She’s going round and round the revolving door. While the opening song “Stay Up” is a party hardy young adults anthem to “living hard like there’s no tomorrow”. Their new wave flow of lyricism and brilliant guitar and bass rhythms make for an incredible alternative rock sound. Currently working on their second album that should prove excellent The Dizzy Riders are one band not to be ignored.
