Warner Drive and ITIS

First band up was ITIS from Colorado Springs, Colorado. They start off their set or should I say SHOW as if it was an infomercial crossed with a Sunday morning sermon. This band has been around for nearly 12 years. They have released 10 CD’s on their own and have pretty much not been able to see their hometown much because of constant touring. They play a brand of pop with a dirty side to it. Think of a pretty flower than strap a dildo on it, pull off some of the pedals, spay paint dirty words on the rest of it and there you go... ITIS. They brought to mind bands like Scatterbrain and Green Jello for the humor factor that they do so well. The musicians in this band are incredible! Their show is a X rated fun party that will definitely make Aunt Myrtle blush. So leave the old bag at home and go check this band out the next time they’re in town.
Warner Drive / Pete's Birthday bash
Anticipation is building in the over capacity crowd tonight at the Viper as everyone is waiting for Warner Drive to hit the stage. The music stops and Casper (Viper Rooms Main Man at the Door) appears from behind the curtain to announce Pete's (WD Bassist) birthday and to welcome the band to start kickin ass.
The curtain opens across the stage and the band ignites in to their set like a fuse dipped in gas. Everyone's eyes are front and center to witness LA’s greatest Rock Heroes. This band has such a great rep and such loyal fans it down right amazes me that they are not on a label. They were recently listed as one of the hottest 100 Unsigned Artist in Music Connection magazine. This high-octane rock band never lets down and always gives 110 percent. During the set of catchy as hell original songs like ‘Life and Livin It Up’, to name a few they play Billy Idols ‘Rebel Yell’ and Casper once again appears on stage but this time to sing with the band. Let me tell you...
Casper can sing. I love to watch Jonny/lead singer perform because he is so passionate about his craft. They do a song that he wrote about his dad, and after seeing them play it for a while now it chokes me up a little as it seems to do the same to Jonny at times. Jonny is such a leader and revolutionary when it comes to PC on stage. He looks through the crowd and notices other local bands in attendance and will tell the crowd there are these kick ass bands that you must check out. He calls them by name and makes you understand that there is a scene happening here in LA that will not be overlooked. If only other bands would take notes on how Jonny is trying to develop a scene and follow his footsteps, the scene would dramatically get stronger for everyone. This band has always taken time to talk with their fans and hang with them. Such a simple thing, and yet a very meaningful thing. These guys are a touring machine, I would list dates but there are way too many so go to there website and find out where they will be. I picked up there new CD Fully Loaded and will be doing a review of it soon. I suggest all of you pick it up as well... oh yeah one more thing, make sure and make it out to see this band, you will not be disappointed, in fact I will be waiting for your ‘thank you card’s’, in the mail.
