Shaw Blades :: Influence
CD Review
By Dedicated Rocker Productions
Both Tommy and Jack bring their best to their sophomore release,'INFLUENCE'. The album marks the long-awaited return of the classic AOR duo. Being impressed with their debut outing, 'Hallucination', I was eager to hear if the chemistry was still there. From the moment I hit play it that question was answered ten fold. Tommy and jack offer up an acoustic platter of cover versions of songs that influenced and inspired them including an amazing cover of 'Summer Breeze' made famous by Seals & Crofts, then there is the Zombies classic 'Time Of The Season' and 'California Dreaming' made famous by Mamas & The Papas. Their harmony is tight, and their styles blend well. This is the album you pick up when you're in the mood to hear music but can't figure out what you're in the mood for. Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades are guaranteed to fit any mood. They're just that GOOD. It's got something for everyone. Enjoy 'INFLUENCE' for its musicianship and the great memories it will bring you with each listen. If you grew up listening to AM radio in the 70's, you will love this album. It is obvious that Tommy and Jack spent a lot of time listening and what they've created here with this album is SOLID GOLD.
