Pig Iron :: The Law And The Road Are One
CD Review
By Dedicated Rocker Productions
'The Law & The Road Are One' rocks at full speed and it don't take shit from no one! Pig Iron serve up five hollow tipped rockers that explode on impact. I kid you not, hitting play is like opening a can of good ole' southern style whoop ass! From the lead off epic track, "Pentagram" to the soufully powerful, "Lord Kill The Pain", Pig Iron flex their musical muscle to the maximum. The musical vibe is a mixture of heavy southern blues and good old fashioned HARD rock and roll. There is a bit of a "stoner" rock vibe throughout, but to label the music as such would do Pig Iron a great disservice. The rhythm section of bassist HUGH GILMOUR and drummer JOE SMITH is deadly and keeps things heavy and full, providing a great foundation for DAVE PATTENDEN's stellar guitar work and solid harp and soulful vocals of JOHNNY OGLE. Pig Iron is a smoldering entity with a true 70's inspired rock vibe. A mesmerizing cloaking of AC/DC, Grand Funk Railroad infused with Black Sabbath-esque riffs. Pig Iron will simply blow you away and make your head spin right off. These boys are BAD ASS and they mean business! Don't say I didn't warn you.
