Handsome Devil at the Keyclub
By Noele Shannon
Riding on the heels of their new CD, "Fully Automatic," Handsome Devil brought the rock to Hollywood recently and gave onlookers one hell of a ride. Bringing their high octane show and in your face attitude, HD opened the night with the ever so infectious "Guns," a true rock n roll anthem that had the crowd warmed up in minutes.
Handsome Devil have really outdone themselves with tunes from FA and its easy to see the crowd responded more than favorably to each raunchy, rock filled number. From the blazing hot first single "Getting you off" to the harmonious "Stay" HD exudes some of the best stage energy I have seen from a band in years. "She Rides" and "Pretty Pictures" were two of my favorites, both laced with catchy guitar riffs and tight harmonies it was easy to see they were crowd pleasers as well.
Other notable songs they sprinkled in the set included: "Super fan" and "Sorry Charlie" (from their two previous records), Love & Kisses from the Underground and the Indie release Knock Yourself Out. Handsome Devil is the true epitome of a rock n roll band with energy, attitude and songs that will be stuck in your head for days... These guys are worth checking out live so make sure you catch them on tour this summer in support of Fully Automatic or give them a listen online at the ever popular myspace. www.myspace.com/handsomedevil
