First Annual Desert Rock Fest

By Juan Ibarra

Desert Rock FestAV Rockout Productions hosted the it’s First Annual Desert Rock Fest on January 26th in Rosamond, CA. A roster of bands sure to rock the AV to it’s core. It was a night many will not forget.

THE THOUGHTS OF EGON (T.O.E.) opened the show with an impressive force. This band is from Lancaster, CA. They created a sound so fresh and on the edge, they are sure to win the hearts of many fans. A combination of talent uniquely blended with lyrics that hit the listeners as familiar territory. They proved why they are one of the local favorites.

Hometown favorites, SILENT SOUNDROOM followed up with a fantastic set. Not many bands have a guitar player that runs through the crowd, goes outside and back in through another door without missing a note. They interact with a crowd on a personal level and try to make each person a part of the show, using their creative, melodic sounds and modern riffs. This band is well on a fast track to success!

AUBURN COURT hit the Desert Rock Fest with a BANG! These ladies of rock, “ROCKED” the venue like they were on a mission and taking no prisoners. With lyrics that deal with the struggle of being human, they delivered a connection with the audience. A genuine, raw, emotional groove Auburn Court is sure to capture your heart and lead you to the ‘Garden Of Eden”. The crowd’s energy ignites them to a nonstop craziness. This is definitely one of my favorite bands!

DAYS IN BETWEEN knew what the AV needed and they brought it! This band is from Pasadena, CA. They created a style of rock that flows into the listener’s ears and makes you feel the effect of every last word. Their stage presence is strong and full of energy and they definitely know how to get the crowd going. They combine a “future classic rock style” with a little softer side here and there. This makes the perfect combination of what the listeners want to hear and what they need to hear.

Universal Records’ own PORCELAIN headlined the Desert Rock Fest this year. This Australian bands first appearance in the AV certainly will be remembered, as their presence on stage was phenomenal. The crowd stood for their entire set and screamed themselves hoarse with excitement as they rocked the show (myself included). The energy they produced can only be explained by saying they are true professionals in every sense of the word “rock band”. The lyrics will touch your heart in a way that makes you feel every last breath the singer breathes into the microphone. They ended the show with a little help from lead singer Eric Lilavois/Days in Between, and left the crowd in a frenzy and as any good rock band... Thirsting for more!

All in all the show was a complete success. The venue hit maximum capacity (first time ever as far as I know) and the place was alive. Who would’ve known that this little town could rock so hard. Thanks to all the great bands that shared the night with us, here’s to sharing more wonderful memories with all of you.
