The Chimpz :: On Parole
Independent Release
CD Review

By Dedicated Rocker Productions

The ChimpzThe Chimpz is one of the hardest working and most popular rock bands Los Angeles. The band are ready to make some serious noise and shake things up! They prove that on their CD, 'On Parole'. There is definitely an element of rap/hip-hop, punk, as well as classic rock. 'On Parole' never lets up. From the opening "Yeah" to the closing "Sweet S.F.V." every song is intense, and has an infectious groove and catchy riff. The band sound is raw and intense. Combining time-honored metal guitar riffs with sounds that suggest a hip-hop grooves that simply takes no prisoners. The Chimpz are powered by Art on vocals/rythm guitar, Mario on lead/ rhythm guitar, Cuzzit on bass and bringing the thunder Sean on the drums. Singer Art's singing/rapping is intense and his lyrics are intelligent and insightful, yet never simplistic or pretentious. The lyrics will make you think. They will make you question your life and your values, but most importantly they will rocks off big time! It's really impossible to choose any standout track, because really the entire CD is quite solid with each song having it's own personality. What The Chimpz has accomplished with this album is it will appeal to all different types of people. Fans of Rage Against The Machine and Soundgarden can raise clenched fists in unison. The Chimpz's command of sonic rage and nasty grooves makes. On Parole' a powerful assault in any musical language on any musical level. GO AHEAD A GET YOUR CHIMPZ ON!
