The self-proclaimed "loudest mouth in Rock n Roll" took the stage Friday night Sept 6th, to a sold out show at Boulder Station Casino in Las Vegas, NV. in support of their new album "Rehab".
Prior to the show, I didn’t know how much new material I wanted to hear, now I know -- as much as possible. The guys hit all the albums, all the hits, and all the right moves. Being a photographer at the show, I had the best seat in the house, right in front of the stage. It took me back to my very first concert at Sunrise Musical Theater in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., when Quiet Riot played with W.A.S.P., I was only 14 at the time, but knew I was seeing something special.
Kevin put on a high-energy performance that blew the crowd away, with classic hits like "Cum on Feel the noize", "Mama we’re all crazee now", to some of the newer songs off their recently released album.
Frankie Banali blew me away with his thunderous drums and kick-ass drum solo. The crowd ate it up as he bashed the skins like a madman. It was great to see so many younger people in the crowd mixed in with us veterans, there were 14, 15 year old kids crowded against the front of the stage, singing along to the music.
What a great thing to see, rock n roll’s next generation.
Chuck Wright did an amazing job on bass, being a bass player; of course, my focus was on him, great style, and great voice, all around a very solid performance.
The crowd was entertained by guitarist Alex Grossi’s engaging guitar solo, was among the best I’ve seen in a long time. Ask anyone there and they will agree that the band was in full rock mode that night!
After the show, the band did a ‘meet and greet’ outside of the venue and took the time to meet every single person there, sign autographs and take pictures with fans. In closing, I wanted to take the time to thank the P.R. people at boulder Station for their hospitality and of course to Quiet Riot for putting on an amazing show, but mostly to thank all the fans that were in attendance that evening, because YOU are why the bands succeed at doing what they do.
