CD Review
By The Atomic Chaser
Iron Maiden is one of my all-time favorite heavy metal bands. For several decades the group has been pleasing headbangers all around the world, being one of very few bands from the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal to find success both inside and outside of their native United Kingdom. So, when I heard about the Iron Maidens, the world's only all female, Iron Maiden tribute band. I wanted to hear for myself if they could pull it off. The Iron Maidens are powered by Aja Kim is "BRUCE 'LEE' CHICKINSON" on vocals, Linda McDonald is "NIKKI MCBURRAIN" on drums Sara Marsh is "MINI MURRAY" on guitar Elizabeth Schall is "ADRIENNE SMITH" on guitar and Wanda Ortiz is "STEPH HARRIS" on bass. So could these femme fatale pull off playing some of the most complex heavy metal in the world? With all the previous disappointing tribute to Iron Maiden I have heard and witness, I had my doubts. So, did the Iron Maidens change my mind? Hell yeah, they sure did! Injecting their own power pack venom to such Maiden classic like, "Number of the Beast", "The Trooper", "Phantom of the Opera" and "Run to the Hills". 11 song in total all done very well. In my opinion, the Iron Maidens have succeeded where all other Iron Maiden tribute bands have failed. I never thought a tribute band to Iron Maiden would put out a CD that I would like, much less one I would recommend to heavy metal fans, but I have been proven wrong at long last. If you're a fan of heavy metal, and you're seeking the best tribute band to the greatest metal band in the world, it now comes in the form of the metal maidens known as the Iron Maidens. Great job ladies, I flex the devil horns for one hellava job! For more info on the Iron Maidens, upcoming tour dates, etc., check out: www.theironmaidens.com
