Michael Des Barres
Appears in Hot Sexy Las Vegas Type Show at The Aqua

By Laura Phillips

The “Michael Des Barres and Free Love” show heated up the summer night, July 27th at the trendy new club, “Aqua” located in Beverly Hills. Aqua is cleverly decorated with sophistication, elegance and special touches such as; living room furniture, exotic fish, and a large secluded room to accommodate overflows on dinner reservations. This includes the nice waitress, Pauline who always remembers your name. Aqua serves Euro-Asian food that comes in small portions. The food and drink prices are right in line for the neighborhood that is within walking distance from the famous Backstage Café.

Michael Des Barres and his band are seasoned and legendary musicians that are true pros and made the night unforgettable with their hot sexy show. Actress/Singer Dee Dee Corona (AKA Dionne Corona) gave a highlight special performance with Michael Des Barres that had the entire house standing and applauding accompanied by outstanding musicianship. Backup vocalists included Katie, Gia, and Sharon, and the band manager and co-writer for many of Michael Des Barres original songs is Paul Ill who also played bass. Jock Ellis was great on trombone, and D.A. starred on keyboard. The impressive line-up also included Jason, guitar, Tom Brayton, drummer; Louis Taylor, saxophone, and Anne King, trumpet.

Chris Orr (William Morris Agency) and the Chris Orr (Management Agency) were in attendance along with legendary internationally known musicians; Dave Schultz (Goo Goo Dolls, English Beat), keyboard, solo artist; Katja Rieckermann (Rod Stewart), saxophone; Tal Bergman (Billy Idol, Simple Minds), drummer/music producer. Katja Riekermann recently performed at The Baked Potato, a jazz Club with Tal Bergman, Fred Kron, and Riekermann. They have also been invited to perform with The “Michael Des Barres and Free Love” show in the near future. Plans are also in development to record all original exotic songs at Linda Perry’s Kong Fu Studios.

Other entertaining shows such as Dennis Quaid and his party band have been brought to the new restaurant/bar venue, Aqua by Mac Africa. She organizes parties for young Hollywood all over town along with DJ Party Nights. The legendary music promoter Punkin Pie with the help of her promoter friend, Eden, organized the “Michael Des Barres and Free Love” show. This Las Vegas style night also served as a Bon Voyage party for Eden and Pie leaving for Europe.
