CD Review
By Dedicated Rocker Productions
L.A. based rockers XPELD are back and they better than ever! Xpeld is powered by Jeff Lenhart on guitars/vocals, Andy Sheeron bass and backing vocals and bringing the thunder is Scott Karr on drums and backing vocals. This power trio never cease to amaze me. They keep challenging themselves whether its playing live in front of crazed rock fans and recording their new self-titled release. They are completely unafraid to take risks. XPELD isn't intimidated by anything or anyone. What's the saying, 'proof is in the pudding', well my friends on their second release, the boys delivery the goods hard and heavy. It feels like a natural progression from 'Just Don't Stop Me', while still retaining many of the qualities exhibited in that album. Serving up a much bigger, an ambient feel, and captivating dynamics are still there. As is evident on the first single off the album, "Keep It Up". However, the album is quite different from 'Just Don't Stop Me' on the whole. The boys call on a group of friends, Vinny Appice (DIO/WWIII), Robin McAuley (MSG/Survivor), Billy Sherwood (Yes/Worldtrade), Carlos Cavazo (Quiet Riot) and Chris Holmes (WASP) and more. This album will no doubt attract some new fans with its more accessible material. Xpeld is a rocking band and this CD showcases that big time! I was really looking forward to this second release from Xpeld and I wasn't disappointed. Give it a chance if you want some good rock music. If you are a fan of metal or hard rock, then I suggest that you add this CD to your collection. Give it a chance if you want some good rock music with tons of attitude and power.
