Auburn Court's rockin'debut release, 'On The Brink', runs exclusively on guitar drive riffs filled to the brim with rock and roll attitude. The group is tight, the tunes speed along briskly and are guaranteed to get your rocks off! The band is powered by, Erin Kost on vocals, Sarah Dawn on the guitar and providing the band with rock solid foundation, sisters Candi and Crystal Letterman on bass and drums. If Auburn Court were guys, I might write them off as too derivative of previous rock bands, but the very fact that they are female, means that their sound has enough of a twist to it that they sound like something new and exciting rather than old and rehashed. As is evident on tracks like, "Unpredictable", "Face Down" and "Like It Or Not". Where The Donnas seem stiff at times, this Antelope Valley rock quartet seems more expansive and imaginative. I believe, if Kim Fowley had this group in the 70's they would have been the biggest band on the planet. The album is wall to wall uncut pure rock and roll. Auburn Court are posed to break big with 'On The Brink' and it won't be long until their name is mentioned with the same reverence of other girl rockers The Runaways and Sahara Hotnights.

Auburn Court are full of rock, edge, and attitude. Forget Avril Lavine, these girls really do rock. You will be rocking from the first track to the last track. Having said that, I leave with two thoughts: 1) They're only going to get better. Listening to Auburn Court it is obvious these girls mean business. 2) You can better believe I will be looking forward to hearing what the girls come up with next! Auburn Court is a band to root for.
