Incredible, sums up singer/songwriter Teddy Geiger’s performance on Thursday, June 29th at the House of Blues in Hollywood. The capacity crowd was comprised primarily of young women who screeched and screamed at the mere sight of Geiger.
As the red curtain drew open Geiger took center stage behind a grand piano performing his second number “A Million Years,” which talks about being caught up in things that happen to be cool. Geiger played and impromptu jam on this song.
“This is the first real show I have done in Los Angeles,” Geiger pronounces to the enthusiastic audience. “Night Air,” is another rousing piano driven song displaying Geiger’s sultry vocals with a nice guitar solo.
“Seven Days Without You,” Geiger shows off his piano finesse on this track. This song looks at the idea of finding that soul mate.
“Try Too Hard,” has a nice guitar run that is very catchy. Geiger asked, “How many of you are familiar with My Space?” The crowd responded with thundering applause as Geiger headed into this song. This cut deals with the fear of having a broken heart. He invited the audience to sing along with the song.
“This will be the next single,” Geiger explains while diving into “These Walls,” looking at stepping out of your comfort zone. This song has a strong hook.
“This song is about parents and how to learn how to let go. I think everybody experienced that sometime,” he says about this song,
“Thinking Underage.” The crowd went wild as the band engaged in an impromptu jam session.
One of the last songs Geiger performed was “For You I Will (Confidence) a staple of rock radio, where he invited the audience to sing along which they did with exuberance.
The band took a quick break before rounding out the set with the song, “Love Is A Marathon.”
Geiger is amazing in the fact of being so young, but still able to talk about life experiences in an evolved manner. Check him out the next time he is in town. He won’t disappoint you.
