Static X Live at The Key Club

Static XStatic X wrapped up their latest tour in Los Angeles to a packed Key Club. The band was here about 5 months ago, and this show was a bit different, but did not dissapoint. It's good to see that Static has not faltered one bit. And with the reemergence of guitarist Koichi Fukuda, things are back up to par. Opening up with "Brainfog," the crowd went nuts from the get go and did not let up until the end. Lead man Wayne Static still sports his hair raising mane, spitting out the vocals with reckless abandon. "Dirthouse" followed in all it's slightly industrialized Metal glory. The new songs are good, but people really go for the classics such as "Sweat Of The Bud," and "Stem." One surprise came in the way of "Shit In A Bag," replacing "Get To The Gone" from the last time around. Radio hit "Cold" had the crowd singing every verse as well. It was a nonstop assault with the likes of "I'm With Stupid," Bled For Days," "Permanence," and "Love Dump." "Push It" and "This Is Not" rounded out the show.

It's easy to see why the Key Club was chosen as the venue for this gig, as the sound is impeccable. It'll be interesting to see where Static X goes from here. Rest assured, they'll be around for some time to come.
